    House Bill 216 now has a companion!  Senate Bill 279 mirrors Version 3 of HB 216.  SB 279 was introduced on February 10thand assigned to the Senate Medicaid Committee on February 23rd.  Senator Dave Burke is the chair of the Medicaid Committee and here is aLINKfor a list of Senators on his Committee.  To find out if your Senator is part of the committee please see item 3 below.

    What can you do?

    1.  Look for future emails announcing Sponsor and Proponent Testimony  

    2.  Attend a Town Hall Meeting to show your support and learn about updates to the legislation.  Find dates and locations on theOAAPN website calendar

    3.  Find your legislator at

    4.  Call your State Senator to ask them to support SB 279

    5.  Call your State Representative to ask them to support HB 216

    Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses is holding a Town Hall meeting to discuss House Bill 216, what it means to you, your practice, profession, patients, and healthcare costs. The meeting is Monday January 11th from 6p-7:30p at Metrohealth Medical Center & Free parking is available directly in front of the Towers building. Registration is not required.

    NEOCNS Member, Myra Cook, was selected by the  March of Dimes of Ohio as the Advanced Practice Nurse of the Year. The March of Dimes Ohio Chapter paid tribute to the Nursing Profession at the Third Annual Nurse of the Year Awards on November 14, 2015.. The Nurse of the Year selection committee reviewed 280 nurse finalist submissions from 85 different Ohio health care facilities across 16 defined categories ranging from Advanced Practice to Surgical Services. Myra is a CNS in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus.
